Happy New Year Shire of Trisel!!!

I hope you had a wonderful New Year! It was great to see some of us out at Hero of the Chalice up in Brandon on the 1st! It was a great way to ring in the new year!

We have a busy month ahead of us and I will try my best to get updates out weekly, but keep this email in the top of your inbox, just incase :)

January 7th - Friday - ARTWalk - 6pm-9pmish - Downtown Fort Myers - Meet at the Sydney Berne Art Center, Corner of Davis and Lee Street - Come out in Garb and help promote the Kiwanis Medieval Faire - we'll be giving out flyers!

Thursday, January 13th - 6:30pm - Lakes Park - Volunteer Meeting For the Faire - if you are volunteering, you should try to go to this meeting

Saturday and Sunday January 15th and 16th - 9am-6pm - Kiwanis Medieval Faire - Lakes Park, Fort Myers

Saturday and Sunday January 22nd and 23rd - 9am - 6pm - Kiwainis Medieval Faire - Lakes Park, Fort Myers

Whew ... and that's just January!

Well to help us all relax, and just chill out, SCA style .. we will be having a local camping weekend in North Fort Myers - a Shire of Trisel - Bardic Weekend - I threw together a little site about it - this is not an event, just a time that we, as a shire can hang out, learn more about bardic circles, practice with our fellow fighters, shoot some arrows, and craft together - You should bring your own meals and snacks ... Friday night a "travelers vegetable soup" will be available in the house.
Saturday night meal should include everyone's favorite chili or crock pot meal - we can plug them in at the house Saturday.

If you have a basic or simple craft or SCA class that you would want to share with others, this could be another thing to add to Saturday's activities.

I know it sounds like a whirlwind of things coming up, but all will be fun! See you sometime in January!

Shire of Trisel Social Contributions

Are you wondering how you can contribute to our social gatherings? Here are a few things that we could always use:

- Bags of ICE (we have a deep freeze in the garage, so we have the room to store it)

- Water (whether they are "20 oz" bottles or gallons)

- Soft Drinks (cola, lemon-lime, diet, orange seem to the be the popular choices)

- Iced Tea (by the gallon works great)

- Chips, pretzels, crackers, cookies (finger food)

- a Crockpot Dish works great too, cook during the day, bring it with you, and plug it in when you get here!

Social Gatherings

Our Shire Social gatherings have been an awesome success! It seems that each week or so, new people come out and join in on the festivities!

If the rain holds out for the evening, the fighters will play in the yard.

Everyone is also welcome and encouraged to craft inside, we're all here to educate each other about the world of SCA :)

Our shire activity is growing in leaps and bounds! Now's the time to come together and work together to create fun filled evenings for all to enjoy!

Also, please be aware that monetary donations are always accepted to, please looks for the hat to be passed (it's the purple jester hat on the table)

Either way, we enjoy the company, and please come whether you "donate" or not.

Also, feel free to bring any musical instruments you would like to strum, bang, or play - we have plenty of space between us and neighbors - so have fun with it!

Crafting is always encouraged .... What's next on YOUR list of crafting projects? :) I know there are a few of us that have unfinished projects, lets focus on those!
